Our Purpose
Our Riverside, CA campus occupies approximately 8500 sq ft. in which there are two large air-conditioned classrooms; both areas are equipped with DLP Projectors, DVD players and VCR’s. Our multimedia area is equipped with eight Dell I5 Solid State Computers. Our shop area is approximately 5000 sq ft and is equipped with the following: 1 ESP’s System 3 BAR 97 emission analyzer with two monitors, Drew Tech On-Board Inspection System (OIS), Hunter DSP 600 Alignment System, seating for up to 50 students, vehicles for testing purposes, a DLP Projector and an 8-foot Projection Screen.
California Smog & Automotive Institute uses state of the art projectors, laptop computers, and diagnostic equipment; includes Snap-on’s diagnostic tool (VERUS), Snap-on Modular Diagnostic Information Systems (MODIS), Bosch VCI Diagnostic Scan Tool, Ford OEM Diagnostic Equipment, GM OEM Diagnostic Equipment (Tech 2), Fourteen Diagnostic Scan Tools, Four Power Probes, Fourteen DVOM’s and much more for diagnostic training needs.
The complexities of today’s automobiles coupled with required technician certifications have severely restricted the number of technicians entering the workforce. The automotive repair industry is experiencing a shortage of automotive technicians especially in California where BAR Certified Emission Specialist are in short supply. California Smog Institute has responded to this need by creating a “fast-track” to a career as a California Certified Emissions Automotive Technician. Candidates with good mechanical aptitude and dedication to learning can enter a rewarding career field after completing the California Smog Institute C.E.R.T. program.
